Whatever it’s a surprisingly clunky app that seems to always be one step behind the cloud giants and loses tagging information randomly. There are interoperability issues that the developer says have to do with security and privacy walls on Macintosh. I love that the BusyMac stuff still has a family resemblance to Now Up-To-Date and Now Contacts-they were my favorite Palm apps because their databases could be synched with my Mac and then be massaged to my heart’s content (and of course to get exactly what I needed on my mobile device).īus圜al seems to be getting all the love Bus圜ontacts is limping along in a late 1.x development cycle where it has been since its introduction. And, I was in the AgileBits orbit on my iOS devices with Fantastical until I decided last year to standardize on Bus圜al on all my devices. Flexibits has released Cardhop 2.0.10 with added support for sending messages using Signal. Weve listed all of the apps in the bundle below, along with. Or enter Sarah Smith and Cardhop will add a new contact to Sarah’s card. Most of the apps in the bundle are one year subscriptions that will require you renew in 12 months if you wish to keep the services. Soooo in the end… For me I don’t think I’ll renew it.So, I’ve been in the BusyMac orbit for quite some time (a decade or so). Since you can use it for free, the easiest thing would be to download CardHop and give it a try. Cardhop’s magical parsing engine is incredibly intuitive, letting you search, add, edit, and interact with your contacts using a simple sentence Just type in John G and John’s card will instantly appear. 4: 201: JanuMerging recognised email addresses into contacts solved. It gives you options for linking these cards together and merging them into a single view. 4: 405: OctoBacking Up Contacts to Synology. Bus圜ontacts is a full-featured address book that brings together all of your contact lists from your Mac, Google, Facebook and Twitter. But that was also more situational when my work at that time involved a lot of meetings with other companies. Cardhop alternatives macOS and iOS Software. Now outside of my main work, I love Fantasticals “openings” because it replaces Calendly and doesn’t cost anything more. I’m probably not the target audience for it Bus圜ontacts (again from a team behind a calendar app) does sync social. I actually bought it before it went to subscription, but I use it when I need to do stuff in my contacts which is almost never. Cardhop (from the team behind Fantastical) adds a nicer UI to the contacts. I use the “open meeting link” a lot, but could replace that with meeterĬardhop is odd. Natural parsing of text is great, but hits it’s limits quick when you need to schedule a meeting with 4-5 different people, find an available room and add a meeting document. Not sure they ever can, because obviously google stuff works best in the interface they created for it. We’re Google Calendar driven, and there is still so much where I have to go through the web interface because Fantastical can’t do it (“suggest a time” in google as an example). I use Fantastical, but only because I picked it up when they had a huge sale a year agoįor my day to day work of working in my company, I don’t see the value. As of Feb 2021, Bus圜ontacts some these points, limited on the Manager part, but no iOS, no Mail/Messages integration (not their fault), and a bit long in the tooth. My work heavily relies on calendar usage. But by the time it came along, I had written my own script to parse a line of text into a contact, and I still find that faster. I bet there’s a command-line app I can use instead, and then run it via KM or Hammerspoon.Ĭardhop is really good. Cardhop will automatically recognize relevant data fields and populate them. That’s worth the $40 I’ve been paying to me. Business card scanning: Add contacts by simply scanning a business card with the camera on your iPhone or iPad. This new contacts app is oriented around. Just type the name of a new contact and hit return to add it. So really, it’s the quick and natural-language input for me. Mac: Today Flexibits, creators of Lifehacker’s favorite calendar app Fantastical, bring their command-line approach to contacts with Cardhop (19.99). Clicking a link in the event isn’t that difficult. It’s nice to be able to join meetings from the menu bar, but there are other solutions for that. I just use Calendar to look at my events. 0:00 / 2:31 Cardhop - Business Card Scanning Flexibits 3.15K subscribers Subscribe 14 Share 1. The full view is good – but I don’t find it any better than the stock Calendar app. The mini window is almost unusable for that give the number of events I have. I detest looking at my calendar in Fantastical. 2 is being able to open the mini window with a key press to add something, or key press and then a tab for search. I like Fantastical well enough – I used Bus圜al for a while, but Fantastical’s natural language input was far better (this was some time ago, it may have changed).
